Who Needs Jillian?

I have a little dream.

A dream to have this blog community meet together one day for a cup of joe. I want to hug all of you, soul-deep.

Let's do that in eternity, shall we? All meet up for soul-deep hugs?

Great, its a date!

In the meantime, can we pray for each other? Today?

Honestly, my heart is just heavy. Needing prayer.

Can I share my load with you?

Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 5:2

Bear (bastazō) means to take up with the hands. To take up in order to carry or bear, to put upon one's self (something) to be carried. To sustain, i.e. uphold, support. To bear away, carry off.

Fulfilling the law of Christ is to carry one another's burdens. I'm in.

Burdens (Baros) means heaviness, weight, burden, trouble.

We are to uphold and support one another and relieve each other of heaviness, weight, and trouble. And carry it off.

One of my best friends is a weight-lifting machine. She is the perfect balance of Jesus-lovin', Bible readin', beauty, brains and fitness. My Christian Jillian Michaels. She is quite amazing. I am NOT exaggerating when I say she could pick me up, over her head, and throw me. Thank GOD she doesn't. But let me tell you what she does, instead.

She bears my burdens. She picks up my heaviness, in prayer, in servant-hearted friendship, puts it upon herself and throws it off. Fulfilling the law of Christ.

I am NO Jillian Michaels, but I do have the strength to carry your burdens. We have the resurrected power of Christ living in us.

Who needs Jillian when you've got Jesus?

You are a weigh lifter all your own.

So here's my weight.....

Please pray for my sweet Mamaw. Yesterday she had a "spell" (as she calls it). Her nurse is thinking it was a small stroke. We go to the doctor today. I love this woman, I tell you. My most valuable inheritance.

It is difficult rearranging life to get her to the doctor. Please pray that the Lord would meet us where we are, give me wisdom for her and balance for my family.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN. Pleeeaaassseee let us pray for you. No matter how big or small the need, if you feel led, post a comment or email me. I can copy and paste your request here.

We will resume Psalm 19 this weekend. Thanks to Gina H., Kelli, Kim T., Teresa, Kristen, Jennifer S., Cynthia, Courtney and you others who may be participating. I am learning SO much.

Thank you for reading my crazy blog.

I can't wait to pray for you today.

  1. Becky-

I'm following Psalm 19 with you too. (I'm just not so sure about the whole memorizing part! I've got my notecards though.) Anyways, I will definitely lift up you and your Mamaw. My MeMaw went to be with Jesus when I was so young and though I'm almost 30, I still have a void in my heart left in the shape of that small 5' woman.

I feel silly asking for prayer over this silly little matter but I'm struggling. It's nothing like your Mamaw-not even close-but I feel like I'm treading water with my head barely above the surface! I've got a 3 year old and a 1 year old (today's her b'day actually!). I know you have little ones and I'm in awe of how you seem to have it all together. My house is filthy, laundry's backed up, pantry's empty, and my Bible study is chaotic. I'm studying Isaiah this year in my BSF class and while I am keeping up with my lessons, it feels so rushed. I JUST WANT TO SIT A SPELL WITH MY JESUS AND SOAK HIM IN!!!!!!

Okay-I feel better. :) Sorry this is so silly. I can't wait to share that cup with you.

  2. Becky LOVE your from the heart blogs and I too cannot WAIT to do this in heaven someday with you and all of the ones who read this! I will pray for your sweet Grandma and for you to bear this, what a blessing it sounds that she has been to you. If you pray for anyone for me please let it be Dusty. My heart is so heavy for him as he goes about life thinking all is well when he is in fact in chains. I love you Becky!!! Sharon

  3. There's nothing like lifting each other up in prayer! I will pray for your Mamaw, for healing and for strength. I know that's hard. My grandmother meant the world to me as well, still does (and she's been with Jesus for over two years). I need prayer for focus, on my studies (of His Word), on my family and my home. I'm getting way too distracted these days and I'm answering study questions but not pulling apart his Word like I need to. I don't want to miss His message.

  5. Becky,
Life has been busy this week and haven't been on here much. Just saw this. Most likely the reason Chris saw you yesterday at the doctors. My heart goes out to you. Praying for your sweet mamaw. I know you are dealing with a lot right now, praying for Him, the great Comforter to surround you with peace, with His presence, with His provision for your EVERY need. I stand with you my dear sister and hold you up in prayer! Love you! -Sue :)

  6. Becky, I will be praying for you and your sweet family....like tonight...i am praying for you...i mean it! ;)

You can pray for my little family as we prepare for the mission field in Romania. I feel like there are a million things on a list i need to do and at the end of the day I don't want to do any of them! We need discipline, focus, and a deep yearning hunger for the LORD ALONE!

THANK YOU! You are a HUGE blessing to me! :)
