Easter Week Activity: The Bread Of Life

I have good news for you.

Very good news.

Carbs are good.

Very good.

Jesus says, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger..." John 6:35

Today, the boys and I made bread.

A sweet friend is expecting a baby, and who kneads nourishment more than a pregnant woman?

As the boys basted with butter, I asked questions about...whatelse?

Bread.

Why is bread so good for us? Why do we need all these good grains?

Why would Jesus refer to himself as the Bread of Life?

The boys concluded, "Jesus makes our hearts healthy, like bread makes our bodies healthy."

We also read Matthew 26:26.

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body."

Jesus' body, broken for us. Thank you, Lord.

The boys also made Easter pictures for our friend and her family.

Grant asked Brent to outline a donkey for Jesus to ride into Jerusalem. "Thanks, Dad!"

I love that my boys not only practiced baking bread and serving others today...

...they learned deep spiritual truths.

Jesus - the Giver and Sustainer of life.

Give us this day our daily bread. Luke 11:3

(p.s. That is one great donkey!)
